A chapter in light and place.

August evenings have a particular weight. The air remains warm, colour is saturated and yet the season already feels as though it is beginning to turn.

This painting grew from that balance between abundance and transition—the sense of a day and a season reaching their fullest point before fading.

The sky was developed through broad, layered colour, then interrupted by smaller passages that suggest shifting cloud and atmosphere.

The lower landscape was simplified so the emotional weight remained in the changing light.

Late summer sunset

Experience before interpretation.

The photograph records a place. The painting preserves what remained after distance, time and memory had altered it.
