A chapter in light and place.

Lighthouses occupy the edge between safety and exposure. The path toward one carries both practical purpose and a deeper sense of symbolism.

What stayed with me was the quiet direction of the route itself—the way the landscape seemed organized around a distant promise of guidance.

The path was used to structure the composition and draw the viewer inward, while the lighthouse remained restrained rather than dominant.

Textured ground and softer atmospheric distance created a balance between the physical journey and its symbolic destination.

Coastal path and light

Experience before interpretation.

The photograph records a place. The painting preserves what remained after distance, time and memory had altered it.

Living with the work.

Light Keeper’s Path is part of the lighthouse series and explores guidance, resilience and the emotional pull of a distant destination.
