The landscape begins as an experience—light moving across stone, water holding the colour of the sky, a road disappearing into distance. Back in the studio, observation gives way to interpretation.

Standing on the South Rim as evening settled across the desert, the landscape seemed to suspend time. The final light transformed ancient stone into glowing bands of crimson and gold.
