A chapter in light and place.

At sunset, water becomes a second sky. The last warmth of the day moved across the surface in copper and auburn tones, turning reflection into the true subject.

The scene remained calm, but the colour carried a quiet intensity that seemed to deepen as the light faded.

Warm glazes were built gradually so the surface would glow rather than simply appear orange or red.

The reflected bands were broken with restrained marks, creating movement while preserving the stillness of the evening.

Sunset over water

Experience before interpretation.

The photograph records a place. The painting preserves what remained after distance, time and memory had altered it.

Living with the work.

Auburn Sunset is a warm, atmospheric work whose reflective structure gives it both calm and visual depth.

The original should be supplied signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Framing and delivery can be discussed directly with the studio.
