A chapter in light and place.

As daylight recedes, the landscape enters a quieter range of colour. Blues deepen, warm notes become rare and every remaining light carries greater significance.

Blue Nights grew from that transitional hour when the world is still visible but no longer fully described.

A restrained blue structure was developed through transparent layers, with subtle changes in temperature creating depth.

Small warm accents were introduced sparingly, giving the eye a place to rest while preserving the enveloping character of the night.

Experience before interpretation.

The photograph records a place. The painting preserves what remained after distance, time and memory had altered it.

Living with the work.

Blue Nights is a sophisticated nocturne whose restrained palette and atmospheric depth reward both distant viewing and close attention.
