A chapter in light and place.

A full moon changes the balance of a landscape. Familiar forms become silhouettes and the sky takes on a presence usually reserved for daylight.

The scene felt suspended—neither fully dark nor illuminated in the ordinary sense. That ambiguity became the emotional centre of the work.

The moon was kept simple, allowing surrounding value and colour to create its brightness rather than relying on stark contrast alone.

Layered blues and softened edges hold the atmosphere together, while heavier foreground marks give the painting physical grounding.

Evening sky over water

Experience before interpretation.

The photograph records a place. The painting preserves what remained after distance, time and memory had altered it.

Living with the work.

Full Moon is a central nocturne that combines a strong focal presence with the quiet, meditative atmosphere of the wider series.
